How to Harvest Horse Hair
1
Wash the tail
If possible wash the tail.
Use a specific horsehair shampoo to wash the tail

2
No Sprays
Please do not spray tail conditioner or silicon products onto tail hairs
Conditioning sprays make the hair slippery and more difficult to use and form into a tight rosette.
3
Cut a piece of tail
As long as possible.
Just up from the bottom of the dock and slightly to the side, cut a section of tail hair about two fingers in thickness.

4
Package Hair
Place hair into an envelope
Gently wrap the hair and put it into an envelope. Don’t be tempted to plait it.
